What makes a fountain contemporary? If you’re art savvy and can tell the difference between Kandinsky and Pollock then you probably have a clear idea. For everyone else, contemporary (including modern) fountains are often geometrical, either with single prominent accented shapes or layered shapes evoking a cubist style. On the flip side, these fountains may have more organic shapes, which are more fluid and curving without any stern symmetry.
