Lake & Pond Fountains

Lake fountains float on the surface of a pond or lake, give you a spray display you can see from shore, and keep the water moving so it takes in oxygen. We carry floating lake and pond fountains, aerating fountains and bottom aeration systems from Kasco and AquaMaster, from 1/2 HP decorative units for a small pond to large displays for commercial lakes.

Display, Aeration or Both

Decorative fountains put the display first. Aerating fountains, such as the Kasco VFX series, move far more water to help with algae, odor and fish health. For water deeper than about eight feet, Kasco RobustAire bottom aeration circulates the full water column from the lake bed.

Not sure what size you need? Send us the surface acreage, the depth and the distance to power. Call (941) 256-0152 or text (502) 298-7752, and we'll size it with you.

Lake Fountains, Aerating Fountains and Bottom Aeration

  • Decorative lake fountains float on the surface, draw water from just below it and push it through a nozzle to form a shaped display. They also add some oxygen at the surface.
  • Aerating fountains look similar from shore, but they move a much larger volume of water in a lower, wider plume. If algae, odor or fish loss is the problem, start here.
  • Bottom aeration systems put nothing on the surface. A compressor on shore feeds air through weighted tubing to diffusers on the lake bed, and the rising bubbles circulate the full water column. This is the right tool for water deeper than about eight feet.

Kasco vs. AquaMaster

Both brands build commercial-grade floating fountains that run for years in hard water and hard weather. Kasco builds a few platforms and lets you configure them. AquaMaster builds many finished spray patterns and lets you pick the one you like.

Kasco: One Platform, Many Patterns

  • J Series decorative fountains: Six units from 3/4 HP to 7.5 HP, including the 3400JF, 4400JF, 8400, 3.1JF, 5.1JF and 7.3JF. Interchangeable nozzles let one unit throw a tall geyser this season and a wide plume the next.
  • VFX Series aerating fountains: Eight units from 3/4 HP to 5 HP, including 240V models (3400HVFX, 4400HVFX) and three-phase models (2.3VFX, 5.3VFX).
  • RobustAire bottom aeration: Small, Medium and Large systems, sized by surface acreage and depth.

Kasco fountains can be ordered with LED lighting in six lines, from composite and stainless steel white fixtures to RGB and RGBW color kits, in sets of two to six fixtures. Cord lengths run from 50 to 500 feet. Power options include 120V, 240V and three-phase models, and control panels add GFCI protection, timers and a separate lighting schedule.

AquaMaster: A Pattern for Every Look

  • Masters Decorative Series, 1/2 HP: The widest choice of named shapes, such as Arabella, Biscayne, Crown & Geyser, Half Moon, Lakewood and Valhalla. A good fit for residential ponds, retention basins and smaller amenity lakes.
  • Masters Series, 1 to 5 HP, and Masters Grand Series, 7.5 HP: Larger versions of the signature patterns for bigger ponds and lakes.
  • Galaxy Select Series, 10 to 25 HP: Tall, multi-tier displays that read well from every shoreline of a large lake.

AquaMaster units use oil-cooled, continuous-duty submersible motors with stainless steel hardware. The floating platform self-levels as the water rises and falls, and optional LED lighting packages are available across the range.

Which Fountain Fits Your Water

  • You know the look you want: AquaMaster. Pick the pattern by name.
  • You want to change the look later: Kasco J Series. Swap nozzles, not fountains.
  • Algae, odor or fish loss is the problem: Kasco VFX aerating fountains.
  • Your water is deeper than about eight feet: Kasco RobustAire bottom aeration.
  • You have 240V or three-phase power: Kasco offers both.
  • A small pond and a modest budget: AquaMaster 1/2 HP Masters Decorative Series.
  • A large lake that needs a landmark: AquaMaster Masters Grand or Galaxy Select, or Kasco at 5 to 7.5 HP.

Lake Fountain FAQs

What size lake fountain do I need?

Size depends on the surface acreage, the depth, the shape of the basin and what you want the water to do. Send us those details and the distance to the nearest power source, and we'll match the horsepower to your pond instead of overselling it.

What is the difference between a lake fountain and an aerator?

A decorative lake fountain puts the display first and adds some oxygen at the surface. An aerating fountain or a bottom aeration system is built to move and oxygenate the water, which helps with algae, odor and fish health.

Do floating fountains adjust to changing water levels?

Yes. The floating fountains we carry rise and fall with the water, so seasonal changes in a retention pond don't change the spray height or need you to reposition the unit.

Can I add lights to a lake fountain?

Yes. Kasco offers six LED lighting lines, and AquaMaster offers optional LED packages, so the display stays visible after dark. See our picks for pond fountains with lights.

Why add a fountain to a lake or pond?

A fountain gives the water a focal point and keeps it moving, which adds oxygen and helps limit stagnant water. Read about the benefits of a beautiful lake fountain and why lake fountains matter on our blog.
